Nasi Lemak
(Consists of Rice + Egg + Fried Chicken) = RM8.00
No Service Charges
This is one of the very few Muslim Eateries in Austin. Everytime I walked by this place, I am always enraptured with the Beautiful Aroma of the Fried Chicken Ayam Goreng they have constantly frying in the Wok. Well, this time I thought I'd finally gave it a try.
Sambal, which is the Soul of Malay Cuisine is the Sweet type of Sambal. Nice, but not a Very Complex Tasting Sambal. The Fried Chicken while smelling Very Fragrant unfortunately had a Somewhat Dry Texture but it is still Very Nicely Spiced.
The Rice itself is Coconuty Fragrant but does not really have a very Deep 马来风味. Having said all that, while each element of the Nasi Lemak has its Shortcomings, combined together this is still a Very Competent Decent plate of Nasi Lemak you can find here in Taman Mount Austin.

Still, I cannot call this the best Nasi Lemak as I still prefer Alang Tunggal Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Berempah located in Wadi Hana which I feel had a much Robust and More Traditional 马来风味 Taste. If you are in the Austin area craving for Nasi Lemak though, this one will satisfy. The Owner is a Friendly Chap and made me felt Welcome here even as a Singaporean.
