📋 Here is the Full Menu of the Eatery/Restaurant.

As I was walking around exploring Paradigm Mall, I came across this Small Adorable Fish & Chips Eatery. 🐟 Really Small Place, about as Big as an Average Bubble Tea Outlet but surprisingly still big enough for Dining In with 5 Table within. 👍 The Place is Cleanly Kept and Maintained.
Totally gives me a Mini Long John Silvers LJS Vibe, 😅 with a Similar Colour Scheme and Look.

As I quietly observed it throughout my time in the Mall, its never like Very Crowded until need to queue type of place at least on a Friday. 🤔 Staffs are Friendly, Polite and Welcoming.👍 I appreciate they can converse well in English. When I was waiting for my Food, I observed the Little Porthole to their Kitchen and I'm glad to see that the Items are Freshly Fried upon Order. 👨‍🍳 It took about maybe 3 Mins or so for me to get everything served up.

They have only 2 Types of Fish here. 🐟 Since I wanted to Review and Test their Nasi Lemak too, 🍚 I ordered this Set + an Ala-Carte.
For people watching your Blood Sugar, please note that the Only Zero-Sugar Drink Option is Mineral Water. 💧

Nasi Lemak Set (Dragon Shark) = RM18.83
Not including the Fish, this Nasi Lemak Set consists of:

🥜 About 1 Tbsp of Roasted Peanuts
🍚 About 1 Bowl of Nasi Lemak Rice
🥚 1 Full Boiled Egg
🥒 3 Slices of Cucumber
🌶️ 1 Packet of Homemade Sambal
🌶️ 3 Small Packets of Chilli Packs

🍚 Nasi Lemak Rice

Certainly not the Classic Traditional 马来风味 Quality. 🤔 Not the Gao Gao Lemak type but also Not Bland until No Lemak type too. Very Basic Acceptable and Nohing Special about it.

The Rest of the Ingredients in this Set basically how you'd expect them to taste so I will not elaborate on them. 😅

🌶️ Quality of the Sambal and Chilli Packs

Now this was Surprisingly Not Bad. 👍 The Amount given is actually quite Substantial, I would say at least 4 Tbsps worth? It has a Robust Earthy Presence and Noticeably Onioney Focused. 🧅

Its also not a Very Sweet Sambal, not much Sugar is added to this. 🤔 Spiciness is at Most a Mild Heat. Overall I wouldn't call this a Mind-Blowingly Amazing Sambal, but this at least tasted like there are some Effort put into it. 👍

The Chilli Packs were surprisingly not the Typical Fast Food Sweet Sweet Type. 🤔 They have a Sourish Kick to it. Again, not Amazing of course, but its not bad for a Packet type of Chilli. 🌶️

And now we come to the Main Stars of the Show. The Fried Fishes. 🐟

🐲🦈 Quality of the Dragon Shark

Firstly, I have no idea what kind of Fish this is. 😅 Doing Google Search of this yields nothing except an Actual Prehistoric Creature. 🦖 Personally I thought this was just another Fancy Name for a Catfish 🤔 although the Taste is absolutely Not a Catfish as you read on.
The Fried Batter used here is Acceptable although Not Amazing. 🤙 Thickish Type. If you have eaten LJS Standard Fried Fishes before, this is about the Same Quality. 🐟🤔 The Most Surprising Quality however is the Meat itself. 😳

As I bite into the Fish Meat, I thought I was eating a Piece of Chicken Breast! 🐔😳 Only as I dissected it can I confirm it is still a Fish. 🐟😅 This Bite Texture of this Fish really is Very Close to a Chicken. Its Firm, not at all Flaky like how you'd expect a Fish Meat to behave. 🤔

The Fish itself is hardly Marinated, not even Salted 🤔 and normally you'd think this is a bad thing, but as I am someone who prefer the Original Taste of the Meat, I actually like this. 👍 This Fish tastes Clean with Absolutely Zero Fishiness. 😋 Its so Clean Tasting that if you were to be given a Piece of this without someone telling you its a Fish, you might also be mistaken that this is a Piece of Chicken Fillet. 🐔😅
The Fish itself isn't a Big Cut obviously due to Cost, but I still thought it was Thick and Meaty Enough for the Price they're asking. 👍

🐟 Quality of the Smokey Snapper

This Fish is more Expensive than their "Dragon Shark" if you were to compare Ala-Carte Price. 🤔 Uses the Same Type of Batter although with noticeably some Speckled Spots.
They're not Wrong about calling this Smokey because its REALLY Smokey. 😳 Even without cutting into the Batter, there is already a Faint Waft of Smokiness.

Unlike "Dragon Shark", this one is Definitely a Fish interms of Bite Texture. 🐟 Firmish Bite Texture, but also Flakes like how you'd expect a Piece of Fish Meat to behave. I'm glad at least that it doesn't taste Nua Nua. 👍 It is also Noticeably Oiler than Dragon Shark. 🤔 Dissecting it, you can see the Red Skin prominently on the Meat. There is No Doubt that this is a Red Snapper. 🐟

Remember the Smokiness that I mentioned? 🤔 When you cut into it, the Entire Smokiness Aroma really releases its Full Force. 💨😳 In fact, its so Smokey that I actually thought it hindered the Dish rather than enhance it. 🤔
This is the One Thing I actually don't like about this one. 🤔 It is so Smokey that it practically overwhelms and takes over the Entire Taste Profile of the Fish. 🐟 I do like some Smokiness but this here is just Too Smokey for me. 😅 I find myself actually having difficulty even trying to Swallow it due to the Overwhelming Smokiness. 😅

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM18.83 (S$5.70) for this (Dragon Shark) Nasi Lemak Set is not really Cheap. 🤔 The Nasi Lemak Rice itself is Very Basic, and acted more like a Filler to fill you up. 🍚 Only the Sambal provided felt like it was the one that had the Most Effort done to it. 🌶️ Although I must say overall I feel you can skip their Nasi Lemak.

It's the Fish that is really what you want to go for in this Place. 🐟👍 I still have No Idea what sort of Fish is "Dragon Shark" 😅 but I am impressed with how Clean and Zero Fishy it tasted. 😋 There is hardly any Marination or even Salt on this, but as I'm someone who prefer the Original 原味 Taste of a Fish/Meat, I am actually ok with this. 👍 If you are someone who prefer more Marination and Salt on your Meats you might find this Too Bland. 🤔

At the Price of RM11.90 (S$3.70) isn't particularly Cheap for this Piece of Red Snapper. 🤔 While the Dish doesn't have any Major Flaw Culinarily and it is a Decent Sized Fried Fish for what it is, 🐟 the Main Thing that turned me off was how Overwhelmingly Smokey it was. 💨🤔

It was so Smokey that it completely overwhelmed and took over the Entire Taste Profile of the Fish. 💨🤔 The Original Taste of the Fish is completely lost in this Smokiness. 🐟🤔 While I'm not a Fan of this Level of Smokiness, there may be someone else there who may prefer it more. If you are someone who enjoy a Very Smokey-Infused Meat/Fish, you might enjoy this more. 🤔 Personally, this isn't for me.

I'll admit before I came here, I didn't have much expectations 😅 but several things intrigued me. I'm impressed that their Fish actually taste rather Fresh and doesn't taste like some Re-Thawed Frozen Stock. 👍 This was Especially so for their "Dragon Shark" which was Clean Tasting with Zero Fishiness and Zero Nua Nua. 😋

Even though the Cheaper of the 2, my Personal Preference is their Dragon Shark simply because of how Clean it tasted. 👍 Its not Gourmet Tasting but it was surprisingly More Decent that I had originally expected. 👍 I still have no idea what sort of Fish this is though, so if there are any Fish Experts, I would very much appreciate if you can give this a Try and let us know what Fish it is. 🐟😅

Don't let my Average Score deter you from this Place. This is not a Die Die Must Eat Place obviously, 😅 but if you just Mouth Itchy have a Craving for some Fast Food Level type of Basic Fish & Chips, and keep your Expectations in Check, this one is worth to give it a try. 🐟
