🌳 A Sweet Sentimental Backstory about this Place
The Most Prominent Thing you will notice about this Unique Eatery is the Huge Tree that grows right next to it. 🌳 According to the Very Friendly Lady Boss, apparently it was personally and lovingly planted together with her Husband over 30 years ago! ♥️
It has since weathered thru all the years and at one time almost came close to being Chopped Down by the Malaysia Government. 🪓 Somehow they were able to negotiate to let the Govt trim it instead of chopping it down and thus it has endured to this day. Awwww!! 🌳♥️

This Beautiful Story is both Inspiring and Meaningful. ♥️ 所为前人栽树,后人乘凉. 🌳 And as a Greek Proverb says: "A Society grows Great when Old Men plant Trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in". 🌳😌
The Interior of the Place
There weren't much people when I was there at 9.44am on a Friday Morning and in fact they were just starting to set up and get the place ready. 🌞 Its manned by the Lady Boss and a few of her Staffs. 💁 It's a Very Small Kopitiam with a Small Outdoor Area. The Indoor Area is really very small and can at most only hold about 4 Tables. 🤔 The Kitchen is also very Uniquely Small and Narrow and the space is almost taken up by all the Big Pots they have Bubbling inside. 🍲

The Lady Boss as I mentioned is a Very Friendly and Jolly Person. 💁😄 Even though she was busy setting up shop, she still found the time to chit-chat with me. 😄 The other Staffs look like Foreigners. They are also Friendly, but mostly keep to themselves.

Mee Hoon Kuey is their Signature Dish here and it comes with either Dry or Soup Versions. 🍜 There are no Menu so it might be a little difficult to order if you are not familiar with how ordering Mee Hoon Kuey works. 🤔
If you are familiar though, you can just tell her what you want. 👍 I like that you can customize whether you would like to omit any ingredients that you don't eat. 👍 Finally, check the final price and she'll make it for you accordingly. Because I wanted to also try their Soup, she gave me a Free Bowl of it. 🍲👍 Everything was served up in about 4 Minutes.
🌶️ Homemade Sambal Chilli
This was one of the Main Important Component of the Dish as I understand. 🌶️🤔 The Lady Boss herself is very proud of it as she mentioned this is their Homemade Recipe. 🌶️ Even though its called a "Sambal Chilli", the whole thing looks more Soy Sauce than Sambal. 🤔

The First Thing that hits you is an Intense Mix of Sweet and Savoury. 🌶️😋 Almost like a Cross Between Kicap Manis and Soy Sauce but not really. 🍯 Texture is more Watery than Viscous and its Spicy although not Overly So, but the Heat does linger long in your Mouth. 🌶️ This is a Very Well Made somewhat Complex Sambal Chilli Condiment. 🌶️👍
🍲 1 Sampler Bowl of their Soup = Free
This is of course their Soup Base if you were to order their Soup Version. 🍲🍜 Wow its so Good! ♥️ Satisfyingly Savoury 清甜 with a Very Deep Veggie almost Herbal Taste. 🥬🌿
This is a Very High Level Soup, Completely Different from how you would expect a Mee Hoon Kuey Soup to taste like. 😋 Excellent Soup! 好汤!
🍜 Dry Mee Hoon Kuey (Default Ingredients, Small) = RM10.00
Even though I've ordered their Small, its served in a Gigantic Huge Bowl as you can see. 😅 Even though this is the Dry Version, there is quite alot of Braised Sauce Base within that has a Sweetish Salty taste to it. 🍯😋 The Mee Hoon Kuey is Handmade, has a Soft Bite Feel although not Super Soft and still retains a somewhat Firmish Bite. 🍜😋 Doesn't taste Doughy and its soaked very nicely with that Braised Sauce. Nice. 🍯😋 Amount of Kuey within is not alot, but Ingredients is Alot. The Lady Boss say they focus on giving more Ingredients than Kuey at this place. 👍 Perfect if you are watching your Carb Intake.

The Ingredients List firstly consists of several Baby Fishballs 🍡 and Porkballs. 🐷 Both Fishballs and Porkballs were Bouncy to the Bite and especially the Porkballs don't have that type of Supermarket Porkballs Porky Taste. 👍 That said, I also don't think they're Handmade too. Probably sourced from some Supplier. 🤔

There are also Noticeably alot of Beancurd Skins 🟧 and these have also been soaked nicely with that Braised Sauce. 🍯👍 They're very nice to eat and this is the first time I'm seeing Beancurd Skins used in a Mee Hoon Kuey.
Rounding off the Ingredients list was of course an Egg, 🥚 Ikan Bilis 🐟 and Of Course Generous Amounts of Mani Veggies 🥬 which you can see the Staffs cut and shave them outside the Shop. ✂️ Because of the Mani Veggies and Beancurd Skins, I feel they gave the Whole Dish a Very Chewy Feel. 😋

Adding their Homemade Sambal Chilli 🌶️ does elevate the taste of the Dish giving it an Additional Hit of Salty Spicy Kick, 🌶️ although I don't recommend to just spam it into the bowl. 🤔 I feel it is better to dip and eat piece by piece instead.
Optional Food Hack:
One Thing that I thought would improve this Dish further is if they added Pig's Liver. 🐷 They do not offer this as an option however. 🤔 I feel the taste of Liver would enhance the taste further and give it an Nice Meaty Livery Kick. 😋
If you stay in Malaysia and Dapao this, I would recommend to boil up some Pig Liver and adding a Few Slices to it. 🐷 If you do try this, lemme know if this would taste nicer. 😅 Hahaha! I forgot to suggest this to the Lady Boss to add Pig's Liver as an option in the Future. If you are ever here, please help me let her know! 😄

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM10.00 (S$2.90), this is Absolutely Worth the Money to give this a Try. 👍 Its a Very Well Made Bowl of Mee Hoon Kuey. 🍜 Every Component of the Dish was made at a High Level, from the Homemade Sambal Chilli, 🌶️ to their Excellent Soup 🍲 to the Actual Bowl of Mee Hoon Kuey itself.
Personally I feel that while the Combination of Sweet and Salty Taste that you get from the Dry Version is initially very nice, 😋 it can start to get Jelak the more you eat it. 🤔 Thats just my Personal Feeling about the Dry Version.

Luckily the Meal ended just before I reached that Jelakness level so I would say the Portion given for Small Size is just the right amount for me. 🍜👍 If I were to order this again, I'd personally just go for their Soup Version because I feel their Soup is just so Deep and Complex. 🍲♥️ A Well Made Bowl of Mee Hoon Kuey 🍜 and a Very Friendly Lady Boss, 💁 with such a Beautiful Romantic Backstory, 🌳 I can Easily Recommend this to anyone to come give this a Try. 👍
