🧀 Cheese, Cheese, Cheese Everywhere
Let me start the Review by saying that I don't like this Trend of Putting Cheese on Everything. 🧀😅 I mean its not that I hate it, but I find it to be such a Cheap and Culinarily Lazy Method of trying to make something look more Delicious than it actually is. 🤔 It seems that Anything and Everything can easily go Viral nowadays as long as you just put Cheese on it. 🧀😅
The Cheese that is used is usually Mozzerella because its Cheap and it is the one that is Stretchy enough to do a "Cheese-Pull". 🧀🤔 But Mozzerella itself doesn't actually have any taste and most of the time doesn't enhance the Flavour of the Dish at all. 🤔 This is the 1st and hopefully the last time I will feature Cheese on a Dish like this. 🧀😅 Unless the Cheese really does enhance the Flavour of the Dish, I will not consider it in Future Reviews and may even mark it down if Cheese is the only selling point of the Dish. 🧀🤔
That said though, I can't really blame an Eatery for adding Cheese though. 🧀🤔 If putting Cheese draws Customers and puts Food on the Table, who am I to say that they're wrong. Right? 🧀😅
Interior of the Place
Moving on, I got to know this place from JohorKaki although the branch he visited was at Setia Indah. As usual, his Comprehensive Knowledge and History of the Owner is extensive 📝 so I will not elaborate further. You can read his Excellent Review for more Details. 👍 This Taman Pelangi Branch is a Modern Looking Eatery. Its quite a Big Place with a Few Customers on a Friday. No Aircon but its Airy and Cooling. 🌬️

The Staffs are mostly Foreigners, looks like Myanmmar Folks? They're Friendly but mostly keep to themselves. They do understand Mandarin when you order though. 👍 Ordering is thru the Paper Form they have, 📝 but in my case because I only ordered 1 item, there is no need to fill in the Form. Everything was served up in 3 Mins.
🍲 1 Sampler Bowl of their Regular 养生 BKT Soup = RM2.00
Of course for any BKT Eatery, I have to sample their BKT Broth so I requested for a Bowl of this. 🥣 Its not Free of Charge, but then again RM2.00 (S$0.60) is also not that expensive. 🤔 I am immediately impressed when it was served up. 🍲 Filled almost to the Brim of the Bowl, the Amount of Soup didn't felt Stingy. 👍 I was even more surprised they took the effort to garnish it with Scallions and even Goji Berries! 🍒

The Broth itself smells Deeply Herbal 🌿 and I loved how Deep Gao Gao Dark Coloured it was. Really 深不见底. 😳 And the taste itself is indeed Very Herbly too. 🌿 While it's not the Klang Style of Herbal, it completely stands on its own. 🌿👍 The Menu claims they have over 20 Herbs incorporated in it and I believe them because this really taste Very Very Deeply Herbal. 🌿😋
For some reason, I felt the Broth tasted like a More Savoury Less Bitter Version of 恭和堂 Koong Woh Tong's Ya Sei Mei Tea. 🌿😅 Got a very nice 苦香苦甜 type of taste. It's almost Bitter but not really. Sweet but also not really. 👍 Really Complex Deeply Herbly Soup. They call it a "养生" Soup and I also believe them. This tasted like it will actually be Beneficial to your Health. 🌿😋
🧀🐷 Z01 招牌芝士干古茶(肉骨) Dry Cheese Bak Kut Teh (No Rice) = RM22.00
Cheese BKT isn't something Rare in Malaysia and the Cheese is no Different here. 🧀🤔 As I mentioned, the Cheese here is Mozzerella, its mostly tasteless and doesn't contribute to anything other than that Instagrammable Cheese Pull Look. 🧀😅 Doesn't improve any Flavour, not even Texture.

The Actual Dry BKT itself however is Really Good on itself already. 👍 Quite surprised to even find Goji Berries even in this Dry BKT. 🍒 This Eatery is quite generous with Goji Berries, Soup have, this Dry BKT also have. 🍒😅 While it makes sense to have Goji Berries in the Soup, you can't really taste them here in the Dry BKT because the Gravy completely overpowers it. 🤔 They're there only to add Colour and I do appreciate their inclusion. Hahaha this Eatery sure loves their Goji Berries! 🍒😅

As for the Pork, 🐷 there are about 5 Pieces of Big Cuts and they are really Fall off the Bone Soft and Tender. 🍖😋 Bite Feel is Very Soft and they are Beautifully Soaked with that Dark Gravy. 🍯😋

Soul of this Dish is definitely the Gravy. 🍯 It has just the Right Amount of Savouriness and Saltiness. It has a Nice Garlicky Sweetish Soy Sauce taste. 😋 There's not alot of Gravy but just enough to coat all the Pieces of Meat. 🍖 This is a Very Well Made Dry BKT. 🐷😋 The Actual Taste without that Annoying Cheese is actually really very good. Pairing it with that Excellent Herbal Soup was Perfect! 🍲♥️

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM26.90 (S$7.80), this is Absolutely Worth the Money to give this place a Try. 👍 Everything is made at a Very High Level and I was especially enamoured with their Excellent Herbal Soup! 🍲🌿 Asking for only RM2.00 (S$0.60) is just too Low an Asking Price for such a Complex Quality Herbal Broth! 🍲😅 If you are here, don't miss out on this! This Soup is a Masterpiece! 🍲♥️

Don't bother adding Cheese to the Dry BKT. 🧀😅 It can stand perfectly well without it. Culinarily Impressive, the Portions are Acceptable and I reckon would be Excellent to 下饭 eat with Rice. 🍯🍚 I just wished there was a tad more Gravy thats all.
Looking at the Generous Amounts of Goji Berries given, you can tell this place don't scrimp on Ingredients. 🍒👍 After tasting the Dishes, I can tell that the Owner is a Very Talented Chef. 🧑🍳 He is a Young Chap and yet can produce such a Deep and Masterful Bowl of Herbal Soup. 🍲👍Through his Dishes, you can also feel that he has alot of Passion in Cooking. ♥️ These are not Dishes that are cheaply made 骗吃骗喝 just to make a Living. There are some Real Culinary Skill involved here. 🧑🍳
Especially this Soup is the one that really Wowed me. 🍲♥️ It really does taste Robustly Gao Gao Herbal 🌿 🍲 And in JohorKaki's review of this, apparently Ah Peng learnt his Skill from his Uncle's Tian Hua BKT for 15 years. I think the Actual Name is 添華砂煲肉骨茶? 🤔 I'll visit this in the Future. A Epic Showdown between Uncle and Nephew! Do look out for it in a Future Review! 😄 Definitely a Bak Kut Teh Eatery not to be Missed! 🐷😋 Highly Recommended!
Update: I have visited 添華砂煲肉骨茶 Restoran Chiam Hua.
