At first look, this Bowl of Bak Kut Teh looks very unappealing. The Meat Cuts are small, and they didn't even bother to add any garnishing making the whole thing look very Dull in Appearance

However the Soup itself isn't bad tasting. It's definitely not Klang style yet it's also not a simple Soy Sauce BKT. It uses Danggui as its Herbal Base and is quite strong and herbly. Compared to Soon Soon Heng Bak Kut Teh nearby, I personally feel this is much better tasting as Soon Soon Heng's version tastes like a Simple Soy Sauce Based while this one has a much Stronger Herbal Taste. This soup will taste good on a Cold Rainy Day. Dish itself consists of 5 small pieces of Ribs that are Tender but not overly soft type. I would say the Meat is average. I wished they didn't cut the meat this small as a whole Rib would look more impressive in its presentation.
The Stall Owner here was also much friendlier than Soon Soon Heng and didn't give any 死人脸 when I ordered just BKT without any other Items. I also liked that they have a menu with prices clearly listed compared to Soon Soon Heng so its much easier to order. That said, RM18.00 (S$5.80) for a BKT with only 1 Rib is Not Worth the Price. I also feel this stall can do better as the BKT appearance really looks dull and unappealing. Having 1 Big Fat Un-Cut Rib and some Garnishing with a few Garlic Pieces would have improved the presentation tremendously. If you don't mind the Price of this BKT, I'd say give this Soup a try. Maybe you might like it.
